and will allow strengthening the investment activity of the population. To solve the problem outlined in this paper, a survey was conducted in 2017 using an online questionnaire to identify and characterize the features of crowdfunding. There was no specific target audience, the online survey was publicly available, but the authors sent out a request to pass an online survey to employees and residents of startup incubators, accelerators and coworking associations, namely: ITEA Hub, iHUB, Communa, Startup Depot, Tech Startup School and others. 248 respondents took part in the survey in Lviv and Lviv region (Ukraine). The subjects of the questions addressed to the respondents concerned various aspects of crowdfunding and financing of innovation activities. The first question addressed to respondents was whether they understood the concept of crowdfunding. The results showed (Fig 2.12) that 84% of respondents have heard about crowdfunding and understand how this type of funding differs from others. However, 12% of respondents indicated that they do not know about such a financial instrument, and the rest — heard, but they are not sure that they understand the meaning of this concept properly.
