30 Catechetical Commission Education Commission Catechesis and Catholic education ministry Catechetical and Bible study ministry Prayer campaign "One Million children praying the Rosary for unity and peace" in the UGCC Pope St. John Paul II wrote in his Apostolic Exhortation on the Rosary: "The Rosary is by its nature a prayer for peace, since it consists in the contemplation of Christ, the Prince of Peace, the one who is "our peace". The UGCC Catechetical Commission has joined for the first time in the Prayer Campaign "One Million children praying the rosary for unity and peace" originated in 2005 by children sponta- neously praying the rosary at a wayside shrine to Our Lady in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital. On October 18, 2019 a Rosary prayer campaign was held in the UGCC eparchies and exarchates in Ukraine. Ukrainian chil- dren have prayed at parishes, schools and in the city centers throughout Ukraine answering the call of Pope Francis to pray for peace and missionary spirit. The issue of peace is of special relevance for Ukraine, exhausted by years of war with Russia. Therefore the prayers of children for peace is so important for our country.
