33 UGCC has been involved in the prepa- ration of the new Directory for cate- chists. The vice-deputy of the Com- mission participated in a conference responsible for catechization in Europe which was organized by CCEE on March 18-20, 2019 in Rome. The main goal of the conference was experience sharing in catechetical ministry and mutual work on preparation of a new Directory for Catechesis. It is important to gather catechists and students of catechetical schools for experience sharing, symposiums and even competitions. The Catechetical Commission of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC conducted a Church-wide intellectual Christian game for children and youth of catechetical schools and teachers of catechism: What? Where? When? on the topic "The gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit". "This year the competition attracted a record number of participants (203) and we added the competition for teachers of catechism," stated the organizer of the competition Rev. Andriy Stadnytskiy. This catecheti- cal intellectual game was organized in several stages: parish/deanery level and eparchial/exarchal level competitions. The All-Ukrainian national competition took place on November 23, 2019 at the Ukrainian Catholic University. The number of children from catechetical schools participating in these com- petitions reached more than 3000. Conducting an intellectual Christian game for children and youth of catechetical schools was a great motivational boost for children, teachers and parents and helped to relate to other peers and grow spiritually and intellectually. Thanks to these kinds of competitions, the entire catechization process will be more attractive and appealing in children’s eyes.
