35 The Catechetical commission of the UGCC Patriarchal Curia put a special emphasis on preparing educational programs and catechetical resources . Special resource materials were published: International Biblical commentary (4 volumes); Bible for children "God speaks to his children"; Methodical materials for animators of Christian summer camps "Roads of Faith"; Divine Liturgy with the Sacra- ments of Baptism of adults; catechetical manual "Teaching in parables". Development of visual means for children’s catechesis is an important tool for catechization. The Cat- echetical Commission of the UGCC published a series of Interactive maps (posters) for chil- dren’s catechesis. This project is a continuation of the successful initiatives of the Metropolitan Catechetical Commission on development of visual means for children’s catechesis. In 2016 the Commission has already published first 5types of the interactive maps and they were very successful with two reprint- ing. Seven new types of maps for children’s catechesis included the following topics: books of the Bible; liturgical instruments; liturgical vestments; the last days of Jesus on the Earth; Pascha and 12 major feasts; Christian symbols. These maps are of great resource for the catechists and teachers of Christian ethics in public schools, helping them to make catechesis classes more inter- esting and attractive for children, since children have better developed visual perception of the study materials. There are 2416 parishes with active catechetical programs in the UGCC in Ukraine and it is important to provide formation and assistance to the directors of existing and newly opened catechetical schools. The Catechetical Commission conducted a seminar for the newly appointed directors of parish catechetical schools. The seminar was aimed to provide the participants with assistance in administration to successfully operate a parish catechetical school: planning methodology, organization and coordination of work in the educational process, introduction of interactive methods of education into the catechetical process.
