Annual Report. PATRIARCHAL CURIA UGCC 2019

42 During the Festival the Church of the Wisdom of God of the Ukrainian Catholic University was open for prayers, discussions and spiritual talks. Religious orders had creative presentation of their vocation and service in the monastic orders by setting up a "black tent" and offering insightful presentations on dif- ferent topics: the missionary activities of the youth (presented by the Redemptorist fathers), the monks in the cities (ministry to the youth in the urbanistic environment), evangelization in the eastern Ukraine (presented by Salesian sisters), sport and spirituality (presented by Studite priests). "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ" (Gal 6:2). A special charita- ble exhibition was held to benefit the children in need, so the young people would be a part of the work of diakonia in their lives, helping others to carry theirs burdens and putting trust in Christ. The festival has become a landmark and an open space for communication for Christian youth of different confessions as well as for those young people who are searching for God. The openness of the Festival attracted a lot of young people who are searching for support in their lives amidst uncertainty and loneliness and those who are willing to share their faith. "We hope that this Festival will increase an out- reach for active youth and foster a development of youth communities in parishes of the UGCC. We want to expand the scope of the festival and make it an international event by inviting youth representatives from the UGCC diaspora and Ro- man Catholic dioceses from Europe", stated the head of the UGCC Youth Commission. MAPA, an innovative formational youth ministry project for priests, contributed to the formation of a network of active young priests in the UGCC, willing to develop a youth apostolate by using modern approaches Youth and fami ly mini st r y block "Formation, formation, formation!" is the favorite motto of the Head of the Youth Commission Rev. Rostyslav Pendyuk as the Com- mission launched a special formation program MAPA for motivated priests who want to succeed in working with the youth. Specially themed meetings with Prof. Myroslav Marynovych (UCU) and Ukrainian Leadership Academy were held and an educational visit to Poland was organized for an exchange of ex- perience in the field of youth ministry and Evangelization. The MAPA training was also very practical ‒ at the end of the course each par - ticipant presented his project for the development of youth pastoral ministry at his parish.
