66 In 2019 the following activities were implemented by the UGCC Center to combat corruption: 16 formation training sessions for 752 clergymen in all UGCC eparchies and exarchates in Ukraine; 1 training for representatives of religious orders attended by 43 reli- gious; 5 trainings for UGCC seminarians attended by 345 seminarians; 17 thematic meetings for the members of lay communities and youth centers attended by 326 people. The UGCC has launched a Center to combat corruption in Ukraine highlighting the moral aspect of this social evil We have witnessed the changing attitudes of participants of the trainings sessions, the motivation to combat corruption and the moral responsibility to prevent spreading this evil. We hope that the Church will become a frontrunner in the crusade against the sins of corruption. Ecumenical Commission Church involvement in the development of c i v i l soc iety in Ukraine The Commission for Interreligious Dialogue and Ecumenical Affairs of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC organized a Week of prayers for Christian unity (January 18-25, 2019). Representatives of Catholic and Orthodox Churches as well as pastors of Protestant communities joined in the prayers with faithful from around the world for the unity of all Christians. The Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church was represented at the International symposiums on ecumenism and dialogue : "Religious pluralism, reli- gious freedom and challenges for democracy" in Kyiv; "Kyiv: Christianity and Sophia civilization" in Lutsk; "Role of the Church in the process of European integration" in Krakow; "Role of the churches in reconciliation efforts in Ukraine, Belorussia, Poland and Germany" in Minsk; " Theological impulses for dialogue between Orthodox East- ern Catholic Churches" in Stuttgart. Our Church took also part in the discussion of Catholics and Lutherans com- memorating the 20th anniversary of "The Common declaration of the teaching on the Doctrine of justification" in Kyiv. The Head of the Commission Dr. Ihor Shaban represented the UGCC during a meeting with the U.S. Special Representative for Re- ligion and Global Affairs, Dr. Shaun Casey, where the UGCC ecumenical position was presented.
