76 Activities of the Pastoral Migration Department Pastoral care to the UGCC fai thful abroad and mi ss ionar y act i v i ty in Ukraine In order to consolidate and provide spiritual assistance to the Ukrainian migrants abroad, the Pastoral Migration Department organizes and conducts Forums of Ukrainian Migrants. The participants of these Forums are clergy, active laity and representatives of Ukrainian state authorities. The following Forums were organized by the Department: 2016 in Fatima (Portugal) on the topic: "Development of spiritual and social life of Ukrai- nians in Central and Western Europe" 2017 in Karaganda (Kazakhstan) on the topic: "Spiritual and cultural identity of Ukraini- ans in Eastern Europe and Asia. Yesterday, today, tomorrow" 2018 in Rome (Italy) on the topic: "Children and youth in the conditions of creation of a new Ukrainian diaspora in Europe. Challenges and opportunities for the Church" In 2019, the UGCC Pastoral Migration Department conducted the 1st Forum of students of Sun- day Ukrainian schools functioning abroad, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. It is important to cultivate the appreciation of spiritual values and Ukrainian roots by the youth living abroad, as well as to create a networking place for children and teach- ers in schools from Ukraine and abroad. The Department organized XIV International pilgrimage of migrants to the famous Marian place in Ukraine — Zarvanytsia. This year we had more than 300 participants from 12 countries , where Ukrainian migrants reside. The UGCC Pastoral Migration Department also organized a seven-day course for seminar- ians in the last year of their studies on the specifics of missionary service, which took place on June 24-30, 2019 in Drohobych. The prac- tical course was attended by 65 seminarians from different UGCC seminaries in Ukraine. Bishops and priests serv- ing in eastern Ukraine organized a round table hosted by Bishop Josafat Hovera (Lutsk exarchate); Bishop Vasyl Tuchapets (Kharkiv exarchate); Bishop Mykhailo Bubniy (Odessa exarchate); Rev. Taras Zubko (Donetsk exarchate) where they encouraged the seminar- ians to proclaim the truth of the Gospel in missionary terri- tories.
